Sustainable Construction Visions for Arctic Living - SCABEAC Summit 2025

Welcome to the SCABEAC Summit 2025 in Oulu!


The SCABEAC Summit is designed for networking among innovative construction companies, SMEs, and startups from northern Sweden, Norway, and Finland. The final SCABEAC event will focus on sustainable construction in the Arctic conditions, offering a unique platform for businesses to explore new opportunities and collaborations. On August 13th, Finnish, Swedish, and Norwegian experts will address the theme through keynote speeches and panel discussions in a high-level seminar.


The sub-themes of the event are Tiny homes and Annex Arctic. The Tiny homes preparatory project explored how tiny homes in Northern Finland and Sweden can address regions’ needs for affordable housing that is suited to harsh conditions.

The seminar program will be finalized during the spring.


PROGRAM:

  • 12 August: Arrival in Oulu, a joint evening event starting at 7 PM. Mallassauna, Pikisaari

  • 13 August Seminar at Saalasti Hall at the University of Oulu from 9 AM to 4 PM. Speed-dating, Keynote-speakers, Panel-Discussion, Networking Transportation from the City Hall to University and back. Dinner in Restaurant Veranta 7 PM, Valkea Shopping Centre

  • 14 August: Visit to the Oulu Housing Fair.

Sustainable Arctic Construction and Built Environment in Arctic Climate (SCABEAC) is a three-year Interreg Aurora project that is financed in Sweden by the EU, Region Norrbotten, LTU and business. Behind the project are LTU Business, Luleå University of Technology, UiT – The Arctic University of Norway, SINTEF Narvik, KUPA AS, Oulu University and Arctic Construction Cluster Finland. The project started in December 2022 and will end in January 2026.
